Full course description
This self-paced, required training is designed for student leaders of registered clubs and organizations at Rice University who either:
- Have a financial account managed by Student Activities, or
- Plan to apply for SAPP (Student Activities Programming and Planning) funding.
The course covers essential financial procedures and university policies, including:
- How to access and manage your club’s financial account
- Proper use of P-Cards (Rice purchasing cards)
- Submitting reimbursements and payment requests
- Fundraising guidelines
- SAPP funding rules and regulations
By the end of the training, students will understand how to stay in compliance with university financial policies and successfully manage their club’s funds.
Prerequisites:
None, but students must be affiliated with a registered student organization and successfully completed the annual club registration process.
Time Commitment:
This self-paced course takes approximately 30–45 minutes to complete.
Required to Access P-Cards:
Students must complete this training before checking out a P-Card for any club purchases, including those funded through SAPP.
