The Caregiving Training course prepares students to serve as formal Caregivers at campus events where alcohol may be present. Participants will learn how to recognize signs of intoxication, respond appropriately to students in need, connect peers with campus resources, and support a Culture of Care that promotes student safety and well-being.

 

The Caregiving Program requires completion of both this self-paced online Canvas course and an in-person training facilitated by the Wellbeing Office and Caregiving Leaders. The online course consists of modules covering alcohol and intoxication, caregiving skills, formal caregiving responsibilities, and informal caregiving practices.

 

 

Intended Audience:

Students interested in serving as formal Caregivers for campus events.

 

 

Prerequisites:

None. Students must complete both the online Canvas course and the required in-person training to be eligible to serve as a Caregiver.

 

 

Location:

Online via Canvas. In-person training locations will be communicated by the Wellbeing Office and Caregiving Leaders.

 

 

Materials Needed:

Computer or mobile device with internet access.

This is a self-paced course and typically takes approximately 30–60 minutes to complete.
