Full course description
The Graduate Housing–Resident Assistant Training serves as a comprehensive training and reference tool for all RAs within Graduate Housing (RGA and RVA).
Intended Audience: Current and incoming Graduate Housing RAs.
Format: Self-paced with required completion of specific modules before the start of the academic year.
Modules Include (modules may be added or adjusted as Graduate Housing policies evolve):
*Rice University Community Policies and Procedures
*FERPA and Resident Privacy
*Safety, Emergency, and Crisis Protocols
*Conflict Resolution and Communication
*Event Planning and Community Engagement
*Administrative Tasks (StarRez, Tririga, etc.)-
Move-In and Move-Out Procedures
*Daily Responsibilities and Duty Expectations
Purpose: To ensure RAs are fully equipped with the knowledge and tools to manage daily responsibilities effectively, uphold university standards, and foster a supportive residential community.
Materials: Training videos, policy documents, resource links, quizzes, and downloadable reference guides.
Time Commitment: Approx. 3–4 hours for initial onboarding; additional modules can be completed throughout the semester as needed.
